Spring Fashion Conversation Pieces by Isabel Marant, Acne, & Chanel

So I've been in somewhat of an inspiration slump. I've had days off from work and free time in between here and there where I've perused blogs, shopping sites, stores in Soho, Fifth ave etc, etc, looking for the next look. Needless to say I'm ready for Spring. I'm over winter in it's leather and studs. I think I've reiterated this before, no? Can I be honest? Sometimes I peruse "style blogs" to gain inspiration from other bloggers, but it seems that even they're in a slump, just "re-running" their typical looks and throwing in occasional statement pieces. Maybe they're saving the big guns for fashion week? Idk. This is when I turn to magazines and sites like Style.com. Style.com may have saved me. They have comprised a list of what buyers of the top boutiques and departments stores such as Jeffrey, Net-a-porter, and Bergdorf's to name a few have stocked for this Spring. Not that I can afford any of this stuff, but a girl can dream right?

Love these Isabel Marant Boots, $1000 at Net-a-Porter. So Western. I just want to put these on with some cut-off shorts and kick up some dust in the Wild Wild West. Seriously, these are so lust worthy... *salivating as I type*

Anyone that knows me can tell you that I love attention! I'm not an attention whore. I like my attention grabber to be subtle and these are the type of shoes that you just look down by accident and it causes a jaw to drop to the floor, not intentional of course. The buyer from Opening Ceremony describes these heels as nail inspired. Well allow my heel to be the hammer. These Acne Sapphire shoes will run your pockets $899.
This Chanel Handbag is a whopping $4,525 at Saks and I would fork over every dime to get back to modern femininity. I love studs and leather just as much as the next chick but how can I say this: #overdone.com. I love the crotched knit fabric and the cutesy red flowers which adorn it.

That's all folks. What are some of the key pieces for Spring that you a looking forward to? What must have item have you come across in your daily search for style? Let me know in the comment section,  I'm curious.

Gareth Pugh Spring 2010 Runway Show

The king of avant garde, the purveyor of edge, Gareth Pugh showcased his Spring 2010 Runway show last night at Paris Fashion Week. Notable for his ribbing and extremely boxy shapes, using black and white, and overall robotic feel, Pugh strayed from his usual bold style and strict color pallet. Not sure if it has anything to do with the current wave of nudes sweeping through all the Spring 2010 collections, but the designer selected a softer pallet and the collection was more fluid. Still one to stand out from the pack, Pugh used different shades of grey from soft steel and smoke. The models struck me as survivors emerging from an explosion with powdery dark ash makeup. Needless to say, I loved the collection.

Rihanna and Daphne Guinness sat front row

Karlie Kloss opened the show in a soft grey belted trench with a hood. Here are a few of my favorite picks.

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 Collection at London Fashion Week

Hey sweets! So I was kind of bummed out for a while that Fashion Week here in NY has ended (no more celeb sightings on the home front) but my sadness turned to glee when I viewed the pictures of London Fashion Week, specifically the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 show. Mary-Kate, Ms. Anna Wintour, Freida Pinto, Agyness Deyn, and Alexa Chung are just a few reasons why my heart temporarily stopped, all looking chic! I knew I'd come to this point, or debate rather, of who has the best style: New Yorkers, or Londoners. Just take a look for yourselves, I think the answer is pretty clear. Aaah to be a Londoner.

Emma Watson in a sparkling gold number

Mary Kate looks chic as ever in her Burberry booties!

Alexa is her usual, cool and casual!

Victoria Beckham looks great and strikes an elegant pose!

Freida Pinto makes a glamorous return to the red carpet in this buttery confection!

Ms. Anna Wintour is shimmering in gold!

Aggy stays true to her punky roots while dressing it up a bit!

On to the collection! For the first time ever viewers were able to watch the models teeter down the runway live as the company provided a live stream via their website, but I'll save you some time and give you all the deets here! For the Spring Summer 2010 season, Burberry has outfitted their woman in monochromatic looks in soft greys, nudes, bubble gum pinks, soft blues and mint greens with contrasting pops of color throughout. Also providing the customer in snarkey, short, fitted trenches with lots of belts and straps giving you the option to pair it over mini bubble skirts or dresses with lots of zippers and ruching. Big shoulders have also transcended yet another season. The feel of the collection is very modern, casual, and easy, but still making a powerful statement. Needless to say, I think I'm in love... Check out a few of my favorite picks below.

Spurr Spring 2010 Presentation

100_1031

Spurr or shall I say swoon. Walking into the Spurr Spring 2010 Collection I was instantly greeted by a row of sexy male models. I wasn't expecting it to be so in your face but I did appreciate it, and couldn't wipe the smile off my face. lol... But on to the clothes. Spurr was very All American, but with a James Bond/Mad Men cool. The hot male models were adorn in sorbet colored sweaters, khaki color pants and trenches, denim shirts and jeans, tailored linen suits, and perfectly coiffed hair. I simply adored each look. Any woman would love to have their man sporting the Spurr Spring collection. The set up of the green shrubbery against the stark white background with the named etched above was genius. It made you really focus on the clothes. No distractions. Aside, the dj spun some eclectic tunes, and the bar was stocked with eco-friendly drinks. I had a ball at Spurr.

Hayden-Harnett Spring 2010 Presentation

Loved Hayden-Harnett! The collection not only captured the spirit of the season with it's bright colors, cool accessories, and light and airy fabrics, but the feel as well. The models were all drop dead gorgeous in light makeup, with a natural summer glow. Maybe the company afforded free trips to Cabo before the presentation? Maybe. To go along with the beautiful faces they all sported simple side swept pony's or chignons. What I love most about HH is that the company understands it's customer. Youthful, fresh, easy going, and stylish. Everything in fashion right now is about creating a look with different pieces and layers, this collection will serve as a simple step by step, as each piece can easily go over the next. Never one to completely veer out of it's normal lane but gives you fresh, subtle tweaks each season. The leather bags and accessories were in yummy purple, green, and melon sorbets with sizes ranging from cute wristlets up to huge, roomy satchels. The bathing suits were amazing.. Very 50's. As for the clothes, I spotted lovely tribal patterned rompers, adorable crop leather jackets in butterscotch brown, silk vest and jumpsuits, and lots and lots of exposed zippers! I can literally see myself wearing every piece. The opera played as the viewers made their way around the venue to snap shots of each look. I found this to be a unique touch. I also love the artwork serving as a background hanging on the wall behind the models. Can't wait until the collection hits stores. See for yourself below.
