Fashion Picks from The 2010 Oscar Awards!

Award season finally came to a close tonight! No other award show can compare to the drama that is brought at the Oscars. I actually missed the pre-show but thankfully my twitter pals tweeted some of their favorite looks. It's a complete difference when viewing each garment live, but looking at the pictures there were some looks that were just incredible! Carey Mulligan, Zoe Saldana, Cameron Diaz, and Sarah Jessica Parker were just some of my favorites. It's interesting because these ladies know fashion. The Oscars are the one time to shine and go all out, all while showcasing their love for fashion.
Sarah Jessica Parker will always be a fave of mine on any red carpet. She's so elegant, graceful and smart about her choices. I think this sunny, Chanel gown is really dramatic with a unique neckline. Love you SJP.

Kristen Stewart was the girl I loved to love tonight! I usually hate her, "I don't care about fashion" style, but she put the act away for the Oscars. This midnight blue gown looks like a tulip in mid bloom. Bravo Kristen!

I definitely did not expect this from Diane Kruger. I love how she switches things up! The swatches of black in this Chanel dress keeps things interesting.

Jennifer Lopez was all Vavavavoom! Although I do think she had a little too much booty for this dress.

Cameron Diaz was my absolute fav!!! She looks simply stunning in this Oscar de la Renta gown. She's channeling a grown-up Taylor Swift to me.

Scratch that. No, I think I loved Nicole Richie!! This look is a huge departure from her wild party days. She looks elegant and sexy and the total look matches her style!

I think I was more excited to see this dress on the red carpet, than I was to see Zoe Saldana in it. She looks lovely though.

Was it art imitating life or life imitating art? Either way Anika Noni Rose was channeling the Princess and the Frog and I didn't like it. The dress is gorgeous and she looks beautiful in it but I would have wanted her to shed the sweet image and go for something sexier.

Sandra Bullock was beautiful! Congrats on taking home top honors!

I died when I saw Carey Mulligan in this black Prada dress. The jewels, the cascading hem, the makeup, the hair - bury me please. Stunning!

Demi Moore looks nice but I want to say this: No more blushed colored dresses!!!

Drum roll please..... And my favorites of the night were Carey Mulligan, Nicole Richie, Cameron Diaz, and Kristen Stewart. Did I miss anyone?

Vanity Fair's Misguided Version of New Hollywood...

Not a single brown face. Where's Frida Pinto or Zoe Saldana? This is very depressing. I'm not an avid reader of Vanity Fair. It seems as if their covers are usually more exciting then the stories inside so I tend to skip out on purchasing VF altogether. I am very disappointed in the editors since they couldn't see that the new version of Hollywood encompasses women of all different races, shapes/sizes, cultures and nationalities. I think as media outlets it is important to be mindful of the messages that are sent out to the public. I would love to say that maybe this wasn't intentional, but it's a blatant appeal to the ideal of the "traditional" American girl. I'm sure they'll be receiving a lot of complaints about this, but what else is new. In case you were wondering the actresses are Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Stone, Evan Rachel Wood and Anna Kendrick.

What do you think of the cover? Leave your response below.

Best Dressed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2010!

By the obnoxiously sized photo of Diane Kruger in this gorgeous canary colored gown, she obviously takes my pick for 'Best of the Night'. For some reason she gave me this decade's version of Cameron Diaz. Where was Cameron by the way? Beautiful and always flawless.

Next up was obviously Marion Cotillard, another fave, in a short cream colored feather frock. I was not a fan of the hair, but she's gorgeous and can do no wrong in my book. I also loved new girl on the block Carey Mulligan wearing a fire engine red Lanvin. Glee's Lea Michele is holding her own in a plunging green Malandrino. Last but not least, Christina Applegate. She's lived a lot, coming from being the 90s poster girl/rock chick impresario, Kelly Bundy to A-List movies, and beating cancer last year. She's resilient and looks beautiful in her soft blue gown.

I know there were more stunning beauties to chat about including Kate Hudson, Mischa Barton, and Kyra Sedgwick to name a few, but these five ladies earned kudos for their originality. See you at the Oscars!

Fashion at the Critics Choice Awards 2010!

Yesterday the Critics Choice Awards appeared on television, officially ringing the bell for the start of the awards season. I'm not much of a tv/movie buff, however I do look forward to seeing my favorite stars sashay down the carpet to pick up the golden prize. To me, it's all about the anticipation. Who's going to go all out? Who's going to look a hot mess? Who will wear that amazing Versace gown? I can't wait until the Oscars! The fashion for the Critics Choice Awards was subdued- high glamour. Few sparkles and beading and some of the leading ladies even opted for knee length sheaths. Very muted and understated. However there was still lots of color, fun, and pizazz.

I am not a huge fan of sequins but I absolutely lovvvvve Emily Blunt here in this gorgeous Georges Chakra sparkly shift. What I love the most about this look are those amazing Diego Dolcini heels! It's classy, elegant and fun! I'm officially anticipating her Oscar gown.

Julianne Moore is so gorgeous and rarely ever does wrong on the red carpet. I actually do love this dress, it really looks great with her hair color, but the fit is all wrong. Instead of creating a sleek silhouette it makes her look really boxy. Still gorgeous nonetheless.

French beauty, Marion Cotillard opted for a sexy Dior gown. It's a safe look. The gown is beautiful but now one of my favorite looks from her. I think I'm slightly bothered by the slick back hair.

Diane Kruger definitely brought the drama in this heavenly, Donna Karan creation. I just love her.

My favorite, Zoe Saldana looks her usual amazingly glamourous, knock 'em out the park- self in this lovely Jason Wu frock. I love her heels! Perfection from head to toe.

Carey Mulligan, Ms. Wintour's new muse looks gorgeous here. She's young but easily pulls off classic and sophisticated. I love her chunky wooden necklace.

Precious star Gabourey Sidibe looks beautiful! I love that she is able to hold her own on a red carpet of stick thin model types. Loves it.

Paula Patton glows in this hip hugging red gown. Where is the baby bump?

I love Kyra Sedgwick! She'll always be one of my favorite red carpet stars. I love the scallops in her black cocktail dress.

And last on my favorites list is none other than the lovely Sandra Bullock. This fringe cocktail gown really shows off her great figure.

My favorite of the night happens to be a tie between Zoe and Emily. I can't choose! Both dresses were gorgeous and they acces-sorized perfectly. Who was your favorite?
