Zara Spring 2010

Coutorture points out Zara Spring's 2010 collection may have gotten it's gusto from Phoebe Philo's Celine. I definitely see it. The colors, silhouettes and that's all I good thing.

Givenchy & Ciara Are a Match Made in Heaven

Ciara's beautiful and I am so happy that she is the muse of Givenchy. Givency is flipping amazing so the two go hand in hand. I'm so proud of her and Rihanna as they've quickly become the go-to girls for high end designers, which in turn brings notierity to minorities in fashion. How beautiful is she rocking head to toe Givenchy? I love that Ciara is switching things up and allowing those in the know to influence her style. I would totally rock this look of feminine and masculine edge. The gold sequin harem pants are cool and the bow tie gives her that extra something. Of course after seeing her in this get-up I needed to see what the rest of the collection looked like. Shall we.
This is 1970s glamour at its best! Riccardo took every failed trend of previous seasons and did it right from feathered accents, silly hats, ethereal draping, dramatic pants, sheer tops and bold color. He also expressed his fear of approaching couture for the first time, but this collection deems him a seasoned pro. I so can't wait to see what he has in store for future collections.

Spring Fashion Conversation Pieces by Isabel Marant, Acne, & Chanel

So I've been in somewhat of an inspiration slump. I've had days off from work and free time in between here and there where I've perused blogs, shopping sites, stores in Soho, Fifth ave etc, etc, looking for the next look. Needless to say I'm ready for Spring. I'm over winter in it's leather and studs. I think I've reiterated this before, no? Can I be honest? Sometimes I peruse "style blogs" to gain inspiration from other bloggers, but it seems that even they're in a slump, just "re-running" their typical looks and throwing in occasional statement pieces. Maybe they're saving the big guns for fashion week? Idk. This is when I turn to magazines and sites like Style.com. Style.com may have saved me. They have comprised a list of what buyers of the top boutiques and departments stores such as Jeffrey, Net-a-porter, and Bergdorf's to name a few have stocked for this Spring. Not that I can afford any of this stuff, but a girl can dream right?

Love these Isabel Marant Boots, $1000 at Net-a-Porter. So Western. I just want to put these on with some cut-off shorts and kick up some dust in the Wild Wild West. Seriously, these are so lust worthy... *salivating as I type*

Anyone that knows me can tell you that I love attention! I'm not an attention whore. I like my attention grabber to be subtle and these are the type of shoes that you just look down by accident and it causes a jaw to drop to the floor, not intentional of course. The buyer from Opening Ceremony describes these heels as nail inspired. Well allow my heel to be the hammer. These Acne Sapphire shoes will run your pockets $899.
This Chanel Handbag is a whopping $4,525 at Saks and I would fork over every dime to get back to modern femininity. I love studs and leather just as much as the next chick but how can I say this: #overdone.com. I love the crotched knit fabric and the cutesy red flowers which adorn it.

That's all folks. What are some of the key pieces for Spring that you a looking forward to? What must have item have you come across in your daily search for style? Let me know in the comment section,  I'm curious.

Angela Lindvall in Numero Tokyo by Hans Feurer

I love this spread for Numero Tokyo shot by Hans Feurer featuring the beautiful Angela Lindvall. It reeks of potential for a bad 1990s Spiegel catalog, but the pieces and disheveled styling keep it updated and fun. For some reason when I saw this editorial I immediately though about Fashion Week Street style and the craziness that encompasses it all. It wouldn't be much of a shock to see editors changing in the street in between shows. lol. My favorite shot is the third one. All of a sudden I feel I need a heavy green parker and oily heavy, black combat boots! Inspiring.

Vanity Fair's Misguided Version of New Hollywood...

Not a single brown face. Where's Frida Pinto or Zoe Saldana? This is very depressing. I'm not an avid reader of Vanity Fair. It seems as if their covers are usually more exciting then the stories inside so I tend to skip out on purchasing VF altogether. I am very disappointed in the editors since they couldn't see that the new version of Hollywood encompasses women of all different races, shapes/sizes, cultures and nationalities. I think as media outlets it is important to be mindful of the messages that are sent out to the public. I would love to say that maybe this wasn't intentional, but it's a blatant appeal to the ideal of the "traditional" American girl. I'm sure they'll be receiving a lot of complaints about this, but what else is new. In case you were wondering the actresses are Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Stone, Evan Rachel Wood and Anna Kendrick.

Loved the Style at the 2010 Grammys!

To me, the Grammy Awards have been the best red carpet for style of the year. The stars came out in full force showcasing, their sexy, classy, bold, and for some just plain outrageous taste. I really didn't have a favorite of the night, but I appreciated everyone for going all out showcasing their individuality.
Let's start with Beyawwwnce! This look was so predictable to me. Beyonce is beautiful and I love her but if I see her in another nude, skin-tight fish tail gown, I don't know what I'm going to do! Many of you would probably disagree, but I didn't like the look at all. This Stephane Rolland gown looks too heavy. The pattern is unnecessary and also looks similar to an Herve. I HATE the front zipper. Also those golden glitter streaks in her hair get a big, fat FAIL from me.

Beyonce somewhat redeemed herself in this deep plunging mini Armani Prive. Her body is sick and she does the look justice!
Moving on to my girl Rih Rih and her gorgeous Elie Saab. Rihanna's one of my fav's, but watching her walk down the carpet in this gown reminded me of Lady Gaga's VMA get-up. Just switch out the white for black, add tons of feathers and voila!
I'm really digging the hair and the make-up! Beautiful.
Speaking of Ms. Gaga, she looked out of this word in her orbital influenced Armani Prive! The yellow hair was a cool touch. I love how she stayed in character the whole time. Love you Gaga!
And way on the other end of the spectrum of pop icons appeared Britney Spears. I had to do a double take when I saw this. Britney, is that you? I know she's wearing a crazy pair of Louboutin spiked heels, but with that sheer overlay on top of a full body suit, she's giving me un-hot Grandma. P.S.-Please go back to blonde.
And the disasters kept coming. How tragic was Katy Perry? Usually I love her style, but this gown looks really cheap. It's the wrong color and I HATE those gold appliques. She suffering from the married wife style complex already. *sigh*
Keri Hilson looked nice. I think her gown is too safe, and I wished she wold have taken a risk! But good try for a first time Grammy nom appearance.
I loved Miley's look from head to toe. It just does something to me when a look is coordinated with colors off setting one another, such as her red tousled curls against her deep blue dress. A+ Miley!
Did you guys catch Pink's performance? She is so brave for hanging up side down over the audience while twisting and turning. I like Pink's look here. It's very well put together and great matching with her make-up, hair and overall style.
As I previously mentioned, Ciara is the current muse of Givenchy, so it's no real surprise that she selected a Ricardo Tisci's design for the night. This was a very bold look and I respect it. Go Cici!
O wait, I lied. I DID have a favorite of the night and it was Lea Michele! She was also one of my favs at the Globes, and the SAGs so she's on a roll! I love this dress. It is so perfect for her. One of my grave detestations is when someone who's not really tall goes for a short dress, and it shows that the garment was not made for them. Well she avoided that problem and owns the look altogether! I'm happy the Glee actress is making big fashion statements.

Who was your favorite of the night? Answer Below.

Ciara and Rihanna Give You Bishes Couture!

Necole Bitchie has been really serving us the goods lately. When I saw these shots of Ciara, the current muse of Givenchy and Rihanna rocking Victor & Rolf, making their rounds about the Grammy parties, my eyes popped out of my head. First off, I didn't even know these two got along, but I guess since neither of the two young R&B starlets albums fared too well they might have much to talk about! lol.. On to the outfits.
Check out Cici in her blush colored sheared Givenchy coat, thigh high boots and culottes? (Takes me back to 6th Grade. lol) Not the best of looks but I have to give it to her for thinking outside the box. The key to trying a unique look is to let the statement piece speak for itself and to always keep the make-up understated.

And then we have Princess Rih Rih in her Victor & Rolf! You can always expect Rihanna to wear something abnormal, but she pulls it off every time!

This shot of them was utterly hilarious to me. They look like two tulips in a vase or two bags of cotton candy.. lol. I love it! I'd love to see these two hang out more often.

Kelis Takes a Stab at Alexander McQueen, Results in Epic Fail!

#EPICFAIL
Kelis what were you thinking? I'm happy and impressed that your body sprung back like a rubber band after giving birth to little Knight, but this wasn't the right move for you. Lady Gaga? Yes, it works for her because we totally expected that utterly random, out of this world, totally crazy shiz and yeah we know you're quirky, cool and unique and you're the leader of the new school for chicks who think outside the box. We also get and semi agree with the assumption that Rihanna totally jacked your style, but now you look sick, a bit pathetic, and screaming for attention. The horse hooves, the statue of liberty spikes, and the Rupunzel turned old lady still trying to "work-it" hair isn't working for me. I miss the old "Bossy" Kelis, who was always beautiful and effortless and didn't have to try so hard. :/
Where art thou? Sigh.
